John Travolta’s camp has denied claims the actor was close to severing ties with the Church of Scientology after losing faith in the controversial organisation.

A UK newspaper reported that the grieving star feels that the cult could have done more to help his autistic son Jett, who died in January after suffering a seizure.

But Travolta's rep calls the story "totally false.”

"There's no change in the relationship between the Church of Scientology and John," adds the spokesperson to People.

"He is a member and it's as it was, now and forever."
