Peter Andre is taking legal action after his estranged wife Katie Price appeared to question his fidelity in a TV interview.

The former glamour model responded hesitantly on GMTV yesterday when asked whether Andre had been faithful during their marriage.

Initially, Price claimed that “when you split up with someone you hear things”, before adding: “But as far as I know, I think he was faithful.”

Andre, who is believed to have consulted lawyers straight away, has always maintained that he was loyal to his wife.

"I can hold my head up high and say I've been 100% faithful throughout my marriage and still am,” he said in a recent magazine column.

He added that any reports that suggested otherwise were “totally hurtful and false”.

Andre's lawyers confirmed to the Press Association that the singer was considering legal action.

Price's comments yesterday morning came during an interview to publicise the publication of her 32nd book, Sapphire.

The former glamour model appeared to transform back into her old namesake Jordan a few hours later at the book launch at Selfridges in London.

Price and Andre, who have two children together, split in May.
