A previously unreleased recording by Michael Jackson has emerged online – although don't be surprised if it sounds familiar.
The song is called ‘A Place With No Name’, and is reportedly a re-working of the 1971 song ‘A Horse With No Name’ by US folk rock band America.
The group - who are still performing - are said to have given Jackson permission to record his version, despite similarities with their track.
"The band was honoured that Michael chose to do their song and they hope it becomes available for all Michael's fans to hear,” Jim Morey, America’s manager, said.
It is not known when the song – which was obtained by TMZ – was recorded.
But it is the first of many unreleased Jackson songs which are expected to surface following the star’s sudden death on June 25.
He is known to have been recording new material up until his death.
Friend Deepak Chopra revealed last month that the star was writing about climate change, and he had also recorded an album with Black Eyed Peas star will.i.am and US R&B star Ne-Yo.
There have also been reports that he had recorded tracks featuring vocals by his three children.
Michael Joseph Jackson was born in Gary, Indiana on August 29, 1958. He was the seventh child of nine children to Joseph and Katherine Jackson and was born into a typical working class family. The city of Gary is 25 miles from downtown Chicago and is famous for its massive steel industry. It took its name from the chairman of U.S. Steel, Elbert H Gary, and is nicknamed 'City of Century' – we're hoping for ironic reasons. (Image: WENN.com)
