The probe into Michael Jackson's death has become a murder investigation, according to US reports.
TMZ says the singer's death from a suspected cardiac arrest is being treated as a homicide as the authorities focus on his live-in physician, Dr Conrad Murray.
A law enforcement source says there is “powerful evidence” that the cardiologist administered the powerful sedative Propofol into Jackson's body.
The drug - which is used as an anesthetic in hospitals - was found during a police raid at Michael's home a day after his death.
TMZ claims police have collected a variety of evidence, including an IV stand and an oxygen tank, from the Holmy Hills mansion.
Meanwhile, a spokesperson from the L.A. County Coroner's has confirmed that, contrary to reports, Michael's long-term dermatologist and friend Dr Arnold Klein is co-operating with his office.
"Klein has been cooperating with the coroner's office and they have removed several documents,“ said Assistant Chief Coroner Ed Winter, reports RadarOnline.
"At the moment I cannot reveal anymore."
Last week, Chief William Bratton, who is leading the investigation, said detectives had yet to rule out homicide as a possible cause of death.
Bratton told CNN they were awaiting the results of toxicology tests, which are reportedly due this week or next.
Remembering Michael Jackson
Michael Joseph Jackson was born in Gary, Indiana on August 29, 1958. He was the seventh child of nine children to Joseph and Katherine Jackson and was born into a typical working class family. The city of Gary is 25 miles from downtown Chicago and is famous for its massive steel industry. It took its name from the chairman of U.S. Steel, Elbert H Gary, and is nicknamed 'City of Century' – we're hoping for ironic reasons. (Image: WENN.com)
