Jessica Simpson 'Splits From Boyfriend Tony Romo'

Jessica Simpson has split from boyfriend Tony Romo, according to US media reports.

Romo, who plays for the Dallas Cowboys, is reported to have ended the couple's relationship on the eve of Simpson's 29th birthday.

"She is heartbroken; she loves Tony, but it's been difficult lately,” a source told People magazine.

"He's busy with his career and she's getting ready to shoot her show, The Price Of Beauty. They decided to part ways."

The reported split comes amid reports Romo spent last Friday partying in Los Angeles without Simpson.

Meanwhile, the singer told her Twitter followers that she had planned to celebrate her birthday with a Barbie and Ken themed party.

But she added later: “Barbie party didn't happen, but I turned 29 and feel like I am on top of the world yelling I LOVE GETTING OLDER."

In a cryptic update, Simpson wrote: “The beat of a heart can make you realize the special rhythm of a person...just listen.”

Simpson and Romo began dating in November 2007. The singer was previously married to Nick Lachley.
