Robert Pattinson is stressed out over the Twilight fanarchy that follows him everywhere he goes, prompting friends and colleagues to worry that the attentions of some of his more forward devotees is taking its toll on the British star.
The actor has been fending off admirers on the streets of New York since early June when he began shooting new movie Remember Me in the Big Apple.
On one occasion he was struck by a taxi while trying to escape a group of over-excited fans.
Rob has reportedly become so uncomfortable with all the grabbing that he has started pining for a quieter life in his native Britain.

"Robert is dying to get back home," a source tells the New York Daily News. He's so over everything. He's overwhelmed by all the girls - they terrify him! He says girls grab his neck and clothing all of the time, and he’s not used to that.
“Fans don’t do that to him in London. Everyone there is a little cooler about the fame thing, which is what he’s used to.”

Rob's obvious unhappiness at his current situation is said to have got his co-stars concerned about him.
The source adds: "He's so skinny and stressed. Everyone on set is worried about him... Robert doesn’t understand why everyone is going so crazy over him. He’s embarrassed by the way girls throw themselves at him.
"The girls here are stalking him. He stayed in two different hotels over the course of four days just to try to escape the fans who were following him. He's afraid that if he gives a hand, they’ll take the whole arm.
"He’s being advised by security not to encourage the crowd, so he doesn’t even look up anymore."
Rob's New Moon co-star Jamie Campbell Bower recently told Entertainmentwise that he doesn't envy his fellow British actor's level of fame, calling the his fans' behaviour "scary."
