Harry Potter star Rupert Grint was recently diagnosed with swine flu, his publicist has revealed.

The actor, who plays Ron Weasley in the film series, had a “mild bout” of the illness and has since recovered.

Grint was forced pull out of filming for Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – the final film in the franchise – while he was treated for the disease.

"Other scenes were shot in his absence which did not require his involvement and thus filming was not disrupted," his publicist told the BBC.

The actor will join the movie's other stars at the world premiere of Harry Potter and the Half-Blood Prince in London tomorrow (July 7).

If Grint's swine flu re-appears, we're sure there's a potion at Hogwarts that's strong enough to defeat it.
