Michael Jackson's Ex-Wife Debbie Rowe Vows To Fight For Custody Of Kids

'I want my children back,' says the woman who gave up her rights to her two children with the singer...

Friday 03rd Jul 2009

Michael Jackson’s ex-wife Debbie Rowe children has suggested she will fight for custody of her children with the singer.

The 50-year-old was married to the singer between 1996 and 1999, and gave birth to his oldest kids Prince Michael Junior, 12 and Paris Michael Katherine, 11.

His youngest, seven-year-old Prince Michael II, was carried by an unknown surrogate.

Debbie said in Los Angeles on Thursday: “I want my children back.”

She added that she would be willing to DNA test to prove the children belonged to her, following reports that she merely acted as a surrogate was was not related to them.

She also said she would seek a restraining order to prevent her ex-husband's father, Joseph, from seeing her children.

Her comments come just three days after Michael’s mother, Katherine, was awarded temporary guardianship of the singer’s three children by Los Angeles Superior Court.

And yesterday it emerged that the star had signalled his desire for his mother to care for his children in the eventuality of his death in his will.

In the document, written in 2002, the singer also “intentionally omitted to provide” for his former wife.

Until today, there had confusion over whether his former wife would launch a bid for custody of her two children.

A previous attempt to gain custody in 2003 ended three years later in a private settlement.

Last weekend, her lawyer said Debbie's only current wish was that “Michael's family, and particularly the children, be spared such harmful, sensationalist speculation and that they be able to say goodbye to their loved one in peace”.

Michael died from a suspected heart attack on June 25, aged 50.

RIP Michael Jackson 1958 - 2009

Michael Joseph Jackson was born in Gary, Indiana on August 29, 1958. He was the seventh child of nine children to Joseph and Katherine Jackson and was born into a typical working class family. The city of Gary is 25 miles from downtown Chicago and is famous for its massive steel industry. It took its name from the chairman of U.S. Steel, Elbert H Gary, and is nicknamed 'City of Century' – we're hoping for ironic reasons. (Image: WENN.com)

  • This just proves, that money is the root of all evil. People will do anything for money. Even give their children away. The kids don't know her. She just needs to sit herself down and leave them children alone, and let them be happy.
