The question of who will look after Michael Jackson's three children following his untimely death has sparked a barrage of conflicting reports about the identity of their biological parents.

On Tuesday, TMZ alleged Michael was not the father of Prince Michael Junior, 12, Paris Michael Katherine, 11, and seven-year-old Prince Michael II (aka Blanket), and had neglected to legally adopt them.

The site also claimed that Debbie Rowe, the singer's ex-wife, merely acted as a surrogate for his two eldest children and was not related to them.

Prince Michael II's birth mother is unknown and is not believed to know that her baby went to the star.

Debbie has responded to the reports by claiming that she is the biological mother of Paris Michael and Prince Michael.

"The vast majority of what is out there is untrue,” her lawyer Marta Almli said, reports Radaronline.

“Particular hurtful and insidious is the most recent rumor — which is entirely false — concerning the maternity of the children. Ms. Rowe is the biological mother of the two oldest children."

Meanwhile, the latest issue of Us magazine alleges that Michael's dermatologist Dr. Arnold Klein fathered his children, whilst millionaire entrepreneur Al Malnik has denied reports he is Blanket's real father as well as his godfather.

Michael's mother Katherine has been awarded temporary custody of her son's three children following his death last Thursday.
