Justin Timberlake has voiced concerns over plans to stage a series of tribute concerts for Michael Jackson.
Reports have claimed AEG Live, promoters for Jackson's comeback gigs at London's O2 Arena, are keen to use the venue to hold memorial concerts.
Along with Timberlake, other artists reported to be included on the promoter's wish list include Stevie Wonder and Beyonce.
But Timberlake told the Evening Standard newspaper that he felt “cautious” about the proposals.
“It is extremely tragic - there really was only king,” he said.
“It's an honour to be considered for a tribute to the greatest of all time but also there is a level of just me as a fan that would feel very cautious about doing something like that.
“Like anyone else in the world I'm his biggest fan. I just feel like if there would be any pretension, it would not be good. That's my worry.
“I understand tributing' somebody who is so influential to every artist of our generation. It would have to be done properly.”
AEG announced today that fans with tickets to see Jackson would be able to claim a full refund from tomorrow.
But the promoter is now left with the challenge of filling the O2 Arena, which was to accommodate Jackson's 50 gigs.
Meanwhile, Timberlake also spoke about the King of Pop on GMTV, saying the star had a “huge influence” on the his career.
