Footballer Cristiano Ronaldo has revealed his hook-up with Paris Hilton was part of his bid to make the most of his summer break.

The pair sparked rumours they were dating earlier this month after they were spotted partying together in Los Angeles.

But Hilton later insisted she was just friends with the footballer, who is on the verge of making an £80million move to Real Madrid.

Speaking to The Sun newspaper, Ronaldo said Hilton was “a really cool girl and we had a good time talking”.

“I am a young man and Paris a young lady, and us talking in a club is just what normal people our age do,” he added.

Ronaldo also cast doubt that the pair will be able to revive their friendship in the future.

“She lives thousands of miles away and is busy, and I am busy in Madrid so I am not sure if we will be able to see each other,” he said.

Hilton and Ronaldo's appearance together just days after the socialite's split from former boyfriend Doug Reinhardt.
