Four-year-old Mercy James arrived in London yesterday to begin her new life with her new mother, Madonna.
Mercy, from Malawi, Africa, was pictured outside the pop star's London home looking inquisitive in the arms of a nanny.
According to The Sun newspaper, Mercy reduced Madonna the pair were later introduced, referring to the singer as “mummy”.
Madonna won her Supreme Court appeal to adopt the four-year-old earlier this month.
Appeal judges overturned an earlier ruling by a lower court which said the singer did not qualify to adopt the child.
The child joins Madonna's other adopted African child, David Banda, as well as her biological children, Lourdes and Rocco.
