Chris Brown's lawyer has requested to delay his assault case in order to gain access to police records.
Mark Gerago, the r 'n' b singer's lawyer, last week had his calls for a delay in the case rejected by the appeals court. The preliminary hearing is due on 22 June.
The 19-year-old singer has pleaded not guilty to threatening and assaulting his girlfriend, the singer Rhianna, in February. Rhianna is likely to testify at the case, as reported by BBC News.
If convicted, Brown faces up to four years in prison.
