Susan Boyle Mobbed In Hometown

Susan Boyle was mobbed by fans after her performance in Edinburgh as part of the Britain's Got Talent tour yesterday.

The timid 48-year-old has struggled to come to terms with public and media scrutiny since she shot to fame on the reality TV show, culminating in her being admitted to The Priory for exhaustion two weeks ago.

Though back on the road and taking part in the tour, Boyle left it to her publicist Nicola Philips to tell the press that though the performance went 'really well', the singer would need 'sporadic' rest days.

Boyle originally comes for West Lothian, not far from Edinburgh itself. The sold-out crowd were no doubt there to celebrate her homecoming – but the pressure involved for Boyle must have been considerable.

The next scheduled performance is in Newcastle.
