Twilight star Robert Pattinson was mobbed by fans on the set of new film Remember Me.

The 23-year-old British actor was overwhelmed by fans when he tried to leave his trailer yesterday, according to reports.

The policemen present were unable to cope with the crowd, and co-stars had to help Pattinson get through.

The chaos comes just days after Pattinson reported that he feels overwhelmed by his new fame, saying to sources that it's “bizarre”.

With three more films still to go in the Twilight series, the interest in its starring actor is unlikely to diminish.

The next instalment, New Moon, is set for a November release in the UK.
