Shia LaBeouf has revealed he sometimes worries that his life might be meaningless.

The Hollywood actor said that, despite his success, he was worried he could one day lose everything.

LaBeouf has starred in a host of Hollywood blockbusters, including the Transformers series and recent Indiana Jones movie.

But he told Parade magazine: "Sometimes I feel I'm living a meaningless life and I get frightened. I know I'm one of the luckiest dudes in America right now.

"I have a great house. My parents don't have to work. I've got money. I'm famous. But it could all change, man. It could go away. You never know."

He added: "I have no answers to anything. None. Why am I an alcoholic? I haven't a damn clue! What is life about? I don't know.

"What I do know is, I screw up, and I know that I'm working on myself to be a better person."

LaBeouf's comments about the meaning of life are the latest in a series of unexpected revelations from the actor.

In another interview earlier this year, LaBeouf was quoted as saying he found his mother attractive.
