Gordon Ramsay's mother has denied her son's claim that she forced him to apologise for comments he made about an Australian TV presenter, it's been reported.
Ramsay said yesterday he had apologised to Tracey Grimshaw after receiving a phone call from his mother, Helen Cosgrove.
The TV chef claimed he had been given a "b*llocking" by the 64-year-old.
But Cosgrove told The Sun newspaper: “I haven't spoken to Gordon since the weekend. He calls every Saturday for a chat.
“But I certainly didn't tell him off about what he did in Australia. I won't be speaking to him until this Saturday."
As Entertainmentwise reported yesterday, the TV chef offered an unreserved apology to Grimshaw after he suggested an image of a woman with a pig's face reminded him of the presenter.
His remarks, made at a cooking expo in Melbourne, had been condemned by Grimshaw and the Australian prime minister Kevin Rudd.
Ramsay has developed a reputation for causing controversy.
Last year the chef triggered a parliamentary review of broadcasting guidelines after he swore 80 times during a 40 minute TV show.
