Brad Pitt Snaps Up $960,000 Painting At Swiss Art Fair

Brad Pitt proved he has an eye for fine art yesterday when he purchased one of the star attractions at an art fair in Switzerland.

The Hollywood actor is thought to have paid around $960,000 for Estappe, a painting by German artist Neo Rauch.

The painting depicts a race car pitting in the middle of a race.

Pitt attended The 40th Art Basel fair, the world's leading contemporary art fair, in person as it opened to the public yesterday.

It is the second year in a row that the Inglourious Basterds star has attended the event, which this year boasts work by over 2,500 artists.

His attendance came as the actor faced increasing speculation in the US over the strength of his relationship with Angelina Jolie.
