Jennifer Aniston collapsed from stress and exhaustion whilst shooting The Baster, according to a US tabloid.

The star's hectic work schedule took its toll on the actress, culminating in a funny turn during an outdoor shoot in May, reports the National Enquirer.

"She frantically yelled out, ‘I need a break!’ She said she felt dizzy and light-headed,” says a source.

"She’s usually so calm. She rushed to her trailer to rest and collect herself, but she lost her balance and nearly keeled over.

"The collapse really shook Jen up. It was a wake-up call that she needs to slow down."

A friend added to the publication: "Jen is running on fumes and her nerves are frayed."

"She hasn’t been taking great care of herself physically, and it finally caught up with her.

"She’s upset that she’s 40 and all alone. Her love life is definitely causing her sleepless nights and stress. Jen has been complaining to friends that she feels like she’s running on an endless treadmill and that she has zero social life.

"The collapse was a warning sign that she needs to unplug."

The actress certainly put in some long hours on the New York set of her latest romantic comedy, sometimes shooting scenes through the night.

In April Angelina Jolie denied reports she suffered a similar health scare while filming new flick Salt in the Big Apple.
