Heidi Montag's recent hospital visit was not the result of she and new husband Spencer Pratt being treated "like prisoners" on the Costa Rican set of I'M A CELEBRITY... GET ME OUT OF HERE!, TV bosses have been quick to confirm.
The Pratts joined the celebrity survival competition earlier this month but walked out following the first episode only to return to the jungle a day later.
Heidi fell ill and was hospitalised on Saturday after she and Spencer were reportedly forced to spend time in a darkened room living off water, rice and beans as "punishment" for their early exit.
Internet rumours suggested the newlyweds were "tortured liked prisoners" by the show's producers, who refused to provide food or water to the couple.
Spencer's sister, Stephanie, even wrote on her Twitter.com page that Heidi had been "locked in a dark room for 3 days with no food or water".
But the show's bosses - U.K. network ITV - maintain that the newlyweds were looked after by medical staff at all times.
A statement released reads:
"ITV Studios, producers of the series, state that press reports at this time are untrue. ITV has been producing this format around the world for many years and the health of the celeb participants are of the utmost importance.
"A medic and a doctor are present at the location at all times for all participants. All allegations of the celebrities being deprived of food and water are completely untrue."
Heidi and Spencer dramatically quit the jungle show after just one day but their walk-out turned out to be yet another hoax.
