Danielle Lloyd was lucky to avoid permanent paralysis following a violent incident inside a London night club, doctors have revealed.

The model underwent an emergency operation yesterday to treat a deep laceration to her left leg.

It is thought Danielle, a former Celebrity Big Brother contestant, sustained the injury after she was pushed onto a glass table at the Crystal Club.

“She is very lucky that the major blood vessels and arteries were not involved, otherwise she would have been left permanently paralysed,” trauma and orthopaedic consultant Elliot Sorene told the Daily Mirror.

Mr Sorene, who treated the model, said he had advised her to rest “before embarking on several months of intense physiotherapy”.

He added: “Miss Lloyd acted very ladylike throughout the whole unpleasant and harrowing episode.”

Danielle was enjoying a night out with friends, including footballer boyfriend Jamie O'Hara, when the incident took place in the early hours of Monday morning.

Two unnamed women, believed to be in their 20s, have been questioned by police on suspicion of causing grievous bodily harm.

They have been bailed until July.

Danielle won Miss England and Miss Great Britain in 2004 and 2006, and has previously dated footballer Teddy Sheringham.
