Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes made an increasingly rare public appearance together this past weekend.

The couple - who seem to spend much of their time with an entire continent between them - were in Washington DC for The National Memorial Day Concert on Sunday.

The event, held at the Capitol building, also marked the second time in a matter of days that Tom has been seen in public with adopted son Connor, after the pair attended a L.A. Lakers game together last week.

To be fair, Katie did look rather less strained than she usually does as her husband led her around by the arm.

At one point she even leant towards Tom and almost cracked a smile!

Little Suri didn't miss out on the family fun either - the tot was carried along to the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum by dad Tom on Saturday.
