Sarah Jessica Parker has said she expects her Sex and the City character to have been affected by the financial crisis in the next film.

Shooting on the second movie, which will once again reunite the original cast from the TV series, is due to begin in New York in August.

Sarah said she had yet to see the script for the film, but believed her character Carrie Bradshaw will have to cut back on her spending.

“I think it’s going to be very interesting – or, it should be — because you know, our country has changed significantly in a year,” she told Access Hollywood.

“[Carrie] will have been affected and she’s not an idiot. She’s gonna have to change her thinking about indulgence.”

The second Sex and the City movie is scheduled to be released in 2010.

Sarah, who also spoke about her and husband Matthew Broderick's surrogacy plans in the interview, is currently shooting a romantic comedy with Hugh Grant.
