Peter Andre launched a bid yesterday to claim joint custody of his children with Katie Price, according to reports.

The 36-year-old singer, who split from Katie two weeks ago, is said to be worried he will only be granted limited access to Junior, 3, and Princess Tiaamii, 1.

Peter also apparently spoke to lawyers in London about the return of his belongings, which are reported to have been removed from the couple's home in Surrey.

“He is devastated at what is happening but he knows if a divorce goes ahead Katie will fight tooth and nail for everything,” a source told The Sun newspaper.

“He loves his kids and the idea he might have limited access is breaking his heart.

“There is a very large financial aspect for him to consider, but all he really cares about is the children.”

Peter and Katie are apparently due to meet for talks today after the former glamour model returned home from the Maldives last night.

Katie, who is celebrating her 31st birthday, fled the UK after their split was announced earlier this month.

Meanwhile, Peter is reported to be staying at his manager's home following a week long visit to Cyprus.
