Brooke Shields Calls Kiefer Sutherland A 'Gentlemen' After Night Club Incident

Brooke Shields lawyer has spoken in support of Kiefer Sutherland after the actor was allegedly involved in an altercation over the actress at a New York nightclub.

Kiefer is said to have head-butted fashion designer Jack McCollough at a private party last Monday after the designer “bumped into” Brooke.

The actor, who plays Jack Bauer in 24, has been charged with assault by New York police.

The incident is said to have taken place at a Costume Institute Gala after-party held at SubMercer.

In an original statement released in the hours following the alleged altercation, Brooke appeared to suggest that she didn't know what had provoked the actor.

But the actress's lawyer Gerald Lefcourt told the New York Daily News yesterday: “While at Brooke was bumped into by Jack McCollough, and Kiefer Sutherland became concerned.

“Kiefer has always been a gentleman in her company.”

Meanwhile, Kiefer's lawyer said he was confident the actor would be cleared because he was "neither the instigator nor the wrongdoer" in the incident.

The actor is currently on probation after spending 48 days in a Californian jail two years ago over a drink driving conviction.

He is due to appear in court on June 22 in connection with the alleged nightclub assault.
