Britain's Got Talent star Susan Boyle was given subtitles during an appearance on Oprah last night so American viewers could understand her Scottish accent.
The singing sensation gave a pre-recorded interview to the chat show host from her home in Blackburn.
Susan, 47, spoke extensively about her audition on the talent contest last month, which caught the world's imagination.
The singer, who has never had a boyfriend, described her new found fame as “a dream come true”, but admitted it had taken some time to sink in.
Oprah, who was joined in the studio by Britain's Got Talent judge Simon Cowell, also asked Susan if she was lonely living by herself.
“Oh no. I am not lonely,” Susan replied. “Everyone has been so nice. I've got millions of new friends now.”
Susan's Oprah interview was the latest in a string of appearances the singer has made on US television.
