Hugh Jackman is to travel to Mexico later this month for the premiere of his new film, X-Men Origins: Wolverine.

The actor was forced to abandon the trip in April as a result of the swine flu outbreak.

The rescheduled premiere will take place at the National Auditorium in Mexico City on May 26.

In a message on Twitter, Hugh said he would “provide a moment of fun, escapism and a treat for some of the loyal fans of the comic".

Businesses including as shops and restaurants were originally closed to try and contain the outbreak, but they have since re-opened.

Wolverine, the fourth X-Men film, has already proved a hit at the box office, despite getting mixed reviews from critics.
