Tom Cruise's “control” over wife Katie Holmes has become “unbearable” for the actress, according to a new report.

As well as being under constant scrutiny, it's claimed that the former Dawson's Creek star is under pressure to give her husband another child.

“Suri had her third birthday on 18 April and it was clear at her ‘princess party’ how much Tom adores her,” a source tells Britain's Now magazine.

“But he hoped she’d have a brother or sister by now. They agreed to try as soon as Katie finished her Broadway play in January, but it hasn’t happened.

“Tom’s control, through Scientology, has been almost unbearable for Katie. But the more she’s fought it, the tougher he gets.

"Never having any space to herself is stressful for her.”

It's claimed that Katie has grown closer to her parents following the shock death of her brother-in-law last month.

The insider adds: “It seemed like a good time to reach out to them. She’s feeling the strain of being under the watchful eye of the Scientologists and wanted to build bridges again.”

Meanwhile, Tom and Katie were among a host of stars at the White House Correspondents Dinner held in Washington DC on Sunday.

They happily posed for pictures and signed autographs for fans, and Katie almost cracked a smile at one point.
