Britain's Got Talent sensation Jamie Pugh has a history in musical theatre, despite claiming his appearance on the reality show marked his debut public performance.

Jamie's performance last weekend wowed the show's judges – and looked set to see make him as popular as fellow contestant Susan Boyle.

He said before his rendition of Bring Him Home from Les Miserables that he had no experience of performing in front of live audiences.

But it has now emerged that the Pizza deliveryman appeared on stage at the Her Majesty's theatre in London four eyars ago.

Video footage, obtained by The Sun newspaper, shows Jamie performing with a group of singers at Star EFX Sunday Night Live.

The talent showcase used to be held at the London venue on a weekly basis.

A member of the audience who saw the singer perform in 2006 said: “I couldn’t believe it when I saw him on Britain’s Got Talent saying he had never performed in front of an audience before.

“I remember his performance going down really well — and he didn’t look like he was suffering from stage fright then.”

Responding to the allegations, Jamie said: “I have previously performed as part of a group but I never sang alone. It didn’t go that well.”

Jamie had look destined to challenge Susan Boyle's supremacy on the programme after his performance was also praised on Twitter by actress Demi Moore.
