Kerry Katona: Philip Schofield Was 'Ignorant' During This Morning Interview

Kerry Katona has hit out at Phillip Schofield over an interview the presenter conducted with her on This Morning last year.

The Reality TV star appeared incoherent throughout much of the discussion on the morning programme.

At the time, the incident was blamed on medication Katona was taking for bipolar disorder.

But Katona told the BBC at a press conference that Schofield had implied she was drunk, "which I thought was quite rude”.

The former Atomic Kitten singer, who is set to appear in a new show for MTV entitled Kerry Katona: What's Your Problem?, said Schofield's questioning was “ignorant and arrogant”.

"I have a serious illness," she continued.

"But what really annoyed me when I was on This Morning was how they ignored the illness and my medication and just presumed I was a drunk."

In a statement, Schofield said: "In light of Kerry Katona's recent press conference I would like to point out that the recollection I have of the interview we did with her, differs considerably from hers."

Katona also claimed that both interviewers and the public do not take the condition, which affects half-a-million people in the UK, seriously enough.

The Reality TV star was diagnosed with bipolar disorder in 2006.
