Robert Pattinson has described scenes in which he has gay sex with his co-star Javier Beltran as the “best scenes” in his new movie, Little Ashes.

The Twilight star, who plays Salvador Dali, appears in two underwater scenes with Javier – one in clothing and one without.

Rob, who normally refuses to watch himself on screen, said he recently watched the film -  and was impressed by the pair's scenes together.

He told The Guardian: “It was hard to watch my first scene, in which I turn up in this funny little hat...

“I was worried about watching them, but Dalí and Lorca's sex scenes were in fact the best scenes.”

Rob plays an 18-year-old Dali in the movie just as the surrealist painter arrives at university in Madrid.

It is during his studies when Dali encounters Federico García Lorca, played by Javier, and the pair strike up an intimate relationship.

Little Ashes director Paul Morrison suggested last week that the Twilight hero had found his nude scenes more “difficult” than his co-star.

Little Ashes is released in cinemas this month.
