Twilight looks set to dominate this year's MTV Movie Awards after picking up seven nominations.

The teen Vampire thriller has been shortlisted for prizes including Best Movie, Best Fight and Best Song.

The film's leading stars, Robert Pattinson and Kristen Stewart, are also nominated for Best Male and Female Breakthrough.

Slumdog Millionaire is second in the nominations table with six, including Best Kiss and Best Song.

Along with Twilight, the film will compete against the Dark Knight, Iron Man and High School Musical 3: Senior Year for Best Movie.

The Best Female Performance category features Kate Winslet, Angelina Jolie, Kristen Stewart,  Taraji P Henson and Anne Hathaway.

Christian Bale, Shia LaBeouf, Vin Diesel, Zac Efron and Robert Pattinson are all nominated for Best Male Performance.

The MTV Movie Awards will take place at the Gibson Amphitheatre in Los Angeles on May 31.
