Linday Lohan took time out from her reported downward spiral in the wake of her split from Samantha Ronson to have some fun in the sun on Monday.

The actress looked painfully thin in her stripy bikini as she frolicked with little sister Ali and a group of pals at an historic birthing tidepool in Hawaii.

This week Lindsay's alleged destructive behaviour was called “a cry for attention” by sources voicing their concern about her dramatic weight loss.

But despite being all protruding ribs and bony limbs, the Mean Girls star seemed to be having a blast splashing around in the water and laughing with her companions.

At one point, she even playfully turned her camera on the paparazzi onlookers.
