Lindsay Lohan insists she has never been a threat to ex-girlfriend Samantha Ronson, following reports that the DJ's family called the cops in a bid to keep the actress away.
It was rumoured that Lindsay attempted to barge into a family event held at the city's Chateau Marmont hotel after their split, despite being banned from attending it.
Sam was later photographed having the locks changed on the Hollywood Hills home she shared with the actress, and there were reports her sister Charlotte had contacted the LAPD and talk of restraining orders.
But the bitter break-up apparently came as a surprise for Lindsay, who insists she had no idea Sam was trying to remove her from her life.
In an interview with U.S. TV host Ellen DeGeneres, she says, "I had no idea what was going on. I just hadn't seen her in like, a week. She like, disappeared."
As for getting the cops involved, Lindsay says she baffled: "I was like, I don't understand. It came out of nowhere. I've supported Charlotte and I've never done anything for people to assume I'm dangerous."
However, Lindsay insists the break-up is for the best, as she is ready to get her career back on track - and keep her personal life out of the press.
She adds, "I don't know what happened but everything fell into place and everything is really moving and going on and it feels really good.
"I didn't get into this business to be a celebrity on the cover of tabloids and I've been a target and I'm not that interesting. It distracts people - studio heads, everyone, and they get nervous.
"I've been through a lot. I was 19-years-old when things happened and I'm ready to work. I'm responsible and I can be on time and I learn from my mistakes."
