Filming on Twilight sequel New Moon will continue as originally planned despite a recent legal bombshell, according to a new report.
Stephenie Meyer - who penned the best-selling books on which the film saga is based - is facing legal action from a former college roommate, who alleges that Stephenie based the novels on her ideas.
The lawsuit threatened to have major implications for the sequel - currently filming in Vancouver, Canada - with initial reports claiming that production would be put on hold until the matter was resolved.
But a spokesperson from Summit Entertainment, the company behind the movie, insists that the film remains on schedule for its 20 November 2009 release.
The rep tells MSNBC.com: “Production is underway, in Vancouver, totally as planned. There is no delay.
"Whatever you’re hearing about a lawsuit interfering with the film (and) its release, all I can say is it’s totally false.”
