Jennifer Aniston and Brad Pitt's attempts to stay friendly have been met with a cold response from Angelina Jolie, who is reportedly livid over their lunch dates.

The former Friends star - who is filming The Baster in Manhattan - is said to have purposefully ran into Brad at the Waldorf Astoria where he is staying with Angie and their six children. 

"Jen made two appointments at the hotel’s Guerlain Spas, hoping she would run into Brad,” an insider tells Star magazine.

The insider continues, “Jen called Brad to say she was in New York and would love to see him.

“She wanted to talk to him about some things on her mind. Brad was only to happy to catch up.”

But the Changeling star - who is working herself into the ground on the set of her new film Salt - was reportedly less than pleased to hear about their friendly reunion.

The insider adds, "When Angelina arrived back at their hotel on March 24 after a long, gruelling day on the set, Brad let her know he’d decided to meet Jen for lunch. 

"But for Angie, it wasn’t just a simple lunch date - it was yet another instance of Jen crowding their relationship. Angie was blindsided, shocked and hurt.

"She yelled at him for a half-hour. She walked out of the room and told Brad, ‘I can’t even look at you right now.’”
