Rihanna has reportedly ended her relationship with Chris Brown for good – because she didn't want the couple to become "the next Ike and Tina Turner".

Most expected the Umbrella singer to ditch her R&B star boyfriend after being left battered and bruised from their violent altercation in February.

But the pair were pictured together in Mexico weeks later, amid reports that Rihanna had forgiven the Run It star.

Despite their brief reunion, Britain's Daily Star claims today that the Barbadian singer has finally called time on their romance, much to the relief of her friends and family.

A source tells the paper, "Everybody was horrified when she left us in Barbados and returned to him three weeks after he was charged with domestic battery.

"Rihanna's dad Ronald Fenty was once a violent drug addict and she was making the same mistake her mum Monica made by letting a violent man control her life.

"But she has finally regained her strength and has got away from him."

Chris is due back in court on April 6 when he will be arraigned on two felony charges.
