Chace Crawford To Fill Zac Efron's Dancing Shoes In Footloose Remake?

Chace Crawford looks set to take over from twinkle toes Zac Efron in a remake of the classic musical Footloose.

The Gossip Girl star - who plays the charming Nate Archibald in the socialite drama - is said to have wowed casting directors in an audition for the part of Ren McCormack at the weekend.

A source tells E! News, "He did really well."

Paramount Studios said director Kenny Ortega and producers Neil Meron and Craig Zadan still want to give the remake the go ahead, despite having to fill Zac's recently-vacated dancing shoes.

The High School Musical star dropped out of the film last week, paving the way for thousands of Zac Efron wannabes.

Well if you ask us they couldn't have found a better replacement!
