Zac Efron will not be the starring in the remake of musical Footloose.
Paramount comedy have confirmed that the HSM hottie will not be filling Kevin Bacon's dancing shoes but are continuing with production:
"Footloose is a project we've longed to see re-booted for a new generation. While Zac is no longer attached, we remain excited and committed to the collective brain trust of Kenny Ortega, Neil Meron and Craig Zaden, who will reinvigorate the franchise. Their fresh take on the film will undoubtedly be filled with the same kind of breakout performances that we've come to expect from them."
However, it is going to be a tough job for filmmakers to find someone as multi-talented and popular as singer-and-dancer Zac.
Meanwhile, the young actor has hit France as part of his promotional tour of new movie 17 Again, which also stars Matthew Perry.
Wearing a t-shirt with Kayne West emblazed on the front, Zac arrived at Roissy airport ahead of the premiere in Paris.
