Britney Spears' dad Jamie is running his daughter into the ground with a gruelling regime similar to that of a Russian labour camp, according to a lawyer.

Jon Eardley is claiming that Jamie has his daughter confined to a soulless schedule of work and no play - comparing Britney's life to Aleksandr Solzhenitsyn’s books based around Russian prison camps.

The lawyer said in court papers in LA: “It is worth noting that there has not even been a ‘show trial’ for Ms Spears.”

Eardley says that Britney sought help concerning her father, which he intends to give her.

However, according to the Daily Star, Britney's current lawyer Samuel Ingham states that the Spears family want nothing to do with Eardley and have had a restraining order placed against him.
