Chris Brown finally faced the music over his alleged violent assault on girlfriend Rihanna - and found himself facing possible jail time.
The 19-year-old star was arrested on suspicion of making criminal threats following a reported attack on on the Barbadian pop star on February 7 which left her with “horrific injuries”.
Yesterday the Los Angeles County District Attorney officially charged Chris with two felonies - felony assault and making criminal threats - and also granted his request to push back his arraignment to April 6.
The Run It singer - who arrived at court in a black SUV - stood silently as the judge granted the delay and ordered him not to "annoy, harass, molest, threaten or use force or violence against anyone."
The judge also queried whether Rihanna has banned Chris from contacting her but the star's lawyer, Mark Geragos stepped in adding, "Miss Fenty (Rihanna) does not request this type of order."
If convicted, the sentence could range anywhere from probation to four years and eight months in a state prison, according to the district attorney's spokeswoman Sandi Gibbons.
Reports suggest Geragos is keen to strike a plea deal with prosecutors to keep his client out of jail.
