Britney Spears finally took her X-rated Circus tour on the road yesterday - and Entertainmentwise was ringside in New Orleans to bring you all the first night action.
The pop princess took to the stage in a series of eye-popping outfits and performed burlesque routines which made the Pussycat Dolls - who performed an 40 minute slot to open the show - look relatively demure by comparison.
Although Britney looked awkward at times in her skimpy, bondage-style outfits, the star has noticeably grown in confidence since her 'live' televised shows in the US and Europe last year.
The show - which was produced by Kylie Minogue's tour director - was split into four sexually-charged segments, and began in spectacular style with Britney descending from the ceiling on a circular trapeze.
She straddled a stripper pole to perform Radar, while her 2007 hit Gimme More was given a martial arts theme, with the star performing alongside a troupe of dancing ninjas.
Her collaboration with Madonna, Me Against the Music, was restyled as a Bollywood routine, whilst her rendition of Ooh Ooh Baby saw her placed in a box and 'cut in half' in one of a series of stunning illusions.
Britney performed Slave 4 U in a shiny, skin tight metal body suit, dancing around the stage to the roar of bursting flames.
But the most outrageous moment came when Britney simulated an orgy by draping herself suggestively over a group of dancers.
The mother-of-two ended the show with a remix of her debut single Baby... One More Time, before returning to the stage dressed as a cop for her recent hit Womanizer and a reprise of Circus.
