Robert Pattinson finally got to meet his Japanese fans yesterday – including a very excited wannabe Mrs Pattinson.

While Twilight mania has gripped the rest of the world since last year, Japan finally got a taste of the movie phenomenon when the vampire flick premiered in Tokyo on Thursday.

Hundreds of fans waited for hours in the snow and sleet to catch a glimpse of stars Robert, Kristen Stewart and Taylor Lautner walking the red carpet in Ebisu Garden Place.

Rob - who landed on Tokyo on Monday following his cameo appearance at the Oscars - seemed in high spirits as he stopped to sign autographs and pose for pictures with fans.

While many just waved Twilight photos and books in the British actor's direction, one hopeful fan thrust her homemade 'Mrs Pattinson' banner at the star, who graciously had his photo taken with his 'wife-to-be.'
