Jennifer Aniston fled a pre-Oscar party when she learnt she might be about to come face-to-face with Angelina Jolie, it's claimed.
The former Friends actress - who presented an award at the ceremony, as ex-husband Brad Pitt and Angelina looked on from the front row - was in no mood for a more personal meet and greet with her love rival, according to onlookers at a Night Before party.
Fellow guests were still tucking into their sushi when Jennifer reportedly downed her Moet and headed for the door with boyfriend John Mayer in tow, after learning that Angelina was also in attendance.
“Jennifer was looking stunning and had been having a wonderful time, chatting to Kristin Davies and scriptwriter Tina Fey, plus a few well-known producers," a source tells 3am.
“It was a brilliant party and everyone was in high spirits. A lot of celebs, Jennifer included, were camped around a sorbet counter, gossiping.
“Suddenly the wife of a TV film exec who was sat next to Jennifer said, ‘Ooh, I’ve just seen Cameron Diaz and Angelina Jolie!’
“Poor Jen visibly paled. She double checked what she’d heard before muttering, ‘I’m outta here!’
“She asked a mate to make her excuses before putting down her drink and marching to the door.
“Then she had the valet service usher her to the underground carpark. No one got a chance to even smile their goodbyes.”
But it turned out that the 'Angelina' in question had been Angelina-wannabe Megan Fox, and so Jennifer's disappearing act had been for nothing.
Sounds like she's not taking any chances...
