John Mayer has flown back to Los Angeles ahead of his Oscar date with girlfriend Jennifer Aniston.
The guitarist touched down early yesterday to give himself plenty of time to prepare for the 81st Annual Academy Awards on Sunday.
The singer seemed to be excited at the prosepct of escorting Jennifer up the red carpet at the glittering event.
John tells Pop Sugar, "I'm going to the Oscars...It’s my first Oscars. And it’s my first being an Oscar boyfriend."
The couple have previously done their best to keep their relationship out of the spotlight, and didn't even walk down the red carpet at the premiere of Marley & Me.
But they're making an exeption for the Oscars - but will their presense be eclipsed Jen's ex-husband Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie?
