Rihanna's concerned family has reportedly persuaded the singer to turn her back on Chris Brown.

It's claimed the singer had initially wanted to stand by her man, despite allegedly receiving “horrific” injuries as the result of a violent bust-up between the couple.

But. according to reports, she has now agreed to dump him after pleas from her family.

A source tells the News of The World, "Rihanna really did think that Chris was the love of her life.

"But when everyone started to question their relationship, she burst into tears and reluctantly agreed that they were right.

"She just can't believe it's ended this way."

Rihanna's father Ronald confirms, "The relationship is over and I am pleased. She doesn't want to speak to Chris.

"She is being very brave about things and said that she will be back on stage performing soon."

Rihanna - who has not been seen in public follow the alleged incident on February 7 - is believed to be staying with her mother in Barbados.
