Christian Bale's foul-mouthed rant on the set of Terminator Salvation has taken on a life of his own.

The four-minute swear fest – in which the actor berates the film's director of photography for distracting him during a scene – has been made into a thumping dance tune by little-known DJ REVOLucian.

L.A. band The Mai Shi are also getting in on the act and have sampled Bale's outburst in a tribute track called R U Professional.

The audio clip – which dates from July 2008 and was leaking online on Monday – the actor can be heard screaming:  "I'm trying to do a f**king scene here and I'm going, 'Why the f**k is Shane walking in there? What's he doing there?' Do you understand my mind is not in the scene if you're doing that?"

He later promises to "kick his f**king ass" before threatening to quit the film unless the offending DP is fired.

Bale has yet to comment on the incident but the movie's associate producer, Bruce Franklin, has defended the actor for his professionalism during filming.
