Life in the public eye appears to be taking its toll on little Suri Cruise – or maybe she's just fed up with being dragged around all day by mum Katie Holmes.

With daddy Tom Cruise off promoting new movie Valkyrie, the pair took the opportunity to spend some quality time together checking out the delights of Rio de Janeiro.

But Suri appeared to be enjoying their mother-daughter day out somewhat less that her mother.

First, Katie took Suri for a stroll along Copacabana Beach, where the youngest Cruise looked bored and and shielded her face from photographers.

Suri appeared equally unimpressed when they stopped off for ice cream and a spot of shopping at a kids clothing store nearby.

At one point she shot a withering look in her mother's direction.

It seems it's not just Katie who is in need of a break...
