Jessica Simpson seemed unfazed by the media attention surrounding her weight gain as she took to the stage Virginia yesterday.

The singer's figure has been the subject of much scrutiny after she unveiled a heavier look while performing at a country music concert in Pembroke Pines, Florida, this past weekend.

But Jess appeared to have brushed off the cruel jibes, and looked fabulous as she opened for Rascal Flatts in Charlottesville, Virginia.

A defiant Jessica told the crowd, "Please remember, no matter what you go through in life, somebody else might have it harder. So just appreciate."

"I feel like in our world today we focus on so many things that are completely pointless."

And whilst last week's outfit did nothing for her new-found curves, her leather trousers teamed with a fitted jacket showed off her fuller figure to perfection.
