Jessica Simpson is being sued by a fitness company over an unreleased exercise video.

The singer – who hit the headlines earlier this week after unveiling her new, curvier figure at a show in Florida - is facing a $10 million (£7 million) breach of contract lawsuit from Speedfit.

Jessica filmed a workout DVD for the fitness company back in 2005, but the shoot has been described as "shambolic" after Jessica allegedly turned up to the studio "tipsy".

And her manager-father Joe reportedly refused to sign off on the project, preventing Speedfit bosses from releasing the DVD.

And now company owner Alex Astilean is taking legal action over the abandoned venture.

An insider tells Radaronline.com, "Jessica was a mess during that shoot.

"They asked her to come back and reshoot, but she refused, and that's why she's facing a lawsuit now."
